Job Description & Responsibilities

As an Assistant Educator at Shurooq, you will play a key role in designing and delivering enriching educational experiences for children. Your core accountabilities will include:

  • Program Delivery: Plan and deliver age-appropriate, interactive learning and reading programs tailored for children.
  • Environment Management: Assist in the setup and maintenance of engaging indoor and outdoor learning spaces that encourage exploration and family involvement.
  • Community Collaboration: Support partnerships with schools, educators, and community groups to advance children’s literacy and cultural engagement.
  • Child Engagement: Engage children in meaningful dialogue, nurture their individual interests, and ensure their voices are reflected in daily activities.
  • Resource Coordination: Assist in selecting and organizing educational and library materials to enhance the children’s collection and overall program quality.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Success in this role will be measured against the following performance targets:

  • Program Participation Rate: Maintain a consistent average of 80% or higher attendance in scheduled children’s programs.
  • Child Engagement Level: Achieve positive feedback from at least 85% of participating children and/or parents (via surveys or observations).
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain 100% compliance with child safety, health, and emergency procedures during all activities.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for the Assistant Educator position, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s in Education or Library Science is a strong advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in:
    • Early childhood education,
    • Literacy programs, or
    • Child-focused library settings.
